Enterprise IT solutions provider SAP today said it has deployed an online financial information system (FIS) for the Indian Navy.
"The FIS will provide across-board visibility and probity in the areas of budgeting, procurement, financial planning and accounting to the organisation. This will help in better decision making," SAP India Vice President (Strategic Industries) Mathew Thomas said.
"The FIS system will link four naval headquarters with material procurements, establishments for ships, naval stores and armament's depots across different locations in the country," he added.
He declined to comment on the financial details. SAP works with government agencies globally and has clients like ONGC, IOCL, GAIL and NTPC in the public sector in India.
