In a bid to connect with young voters ahead of the crucial assembly
elections, which are just a few months away, chief minister Narendra
Modi will soon speak with select individuals and groups on Google+
Hangout.
Modi will become the first Indian politician to debut on Google+
Hangout, which is an application that facilitates group video chat with
up to a maximum of 10 persons.Modi will follow into the footsteps of US
president Barack Obama and Australian PM Julia Gillard, who are the
other notable politicians to have interacted live with people on
Google+.
To interact with the CM, one needs to follow him on
Google+. One will have to post a question, either a video or a text
question, on the site. The questions will be short-listed and the
selected questioners will be invited to join Modi on Google+ Hangout.
The questions can be submitted till August 13, while the Google+ Hangout
with Modi is scheduled for August 24.
The topic of the Hangout
session is ‘Strong and Glorious India long cherished by Swami
Vivekananda’. The initiative has been organised by Vivekananda Cell of
sports, youth & cultural activities department of the state
government. The interaction with the chief minister will also be
broadcast live on Youtube. This means that even if one is not a part of
the Hangout session, he or she can still watch the CM live interacting
with other citizens.
Modi is one of the most followed Indian politicians in the virtual world.
